Porter Garner ’79 President and CEO of The Association of Former Students

Porter Garner ’79 serves as President and CEO of The Association of Former Students at Texas A&M University. Over more than 45 years of dedicated service to Texas A&M and The Association, including the past 26 years as President and CEO, Porter has devoted his career to strengthening the Aggie Network and advancing the university he loves. Under his leadership, The Association has raised more than $572 million, expanded its programs and global reach, and enhanced meaningful traditions and spaces, including Aggie Ring Day and Aggie Park, that connect Aggies across generations.

Porter and his wife, Lisa ’91, share a deep commitment to Texas A&M and its future. Proud Aggie parents to Claire ’21, Callie ’23, and Porter IV ’26, they remain actively engaged in supporting students and the Aggie community. Together, they are Endowed Century Club donors, Eppright Distinguished Donors, and members of the Texas A&M Legacy Society.
